Regina Russell's 6 Card Spread from the "Card Reader's Handbook" by Regina Russell
This spread was originally designed to be used with playing cards but readers have also used it with Tarot or oracle cards.
1-2-3 4-5-6
Shuffle the cards until you feel ready and then fan them out on the table picture-side down. State your question aloud. Draw six cards at random dealing each face up according to the layout above. The cards are read in columns.
The first column (cards 1 & 4) represents recent past or present influences.
The middle column (cards 2 & 5) answers the question.
The column on the far right (cards 3 & 6) represents contributing factors yet to be considered.
Card 6 will usually contain the outcome of the question and is considered the "pivotal card."
