Yes, I the fact that they let Elijah shine in this episode. The "pixie dust" comment had me giggling.

I was surprised by the fact that Klaus listened to Father Kieran and backed down. But Klaus is so good at pushing people's buttons and of course he knew that telling him the truth about his nephew would get the desired effect. What Cami said to Klaus definitely got under his skin - he sees her as this vulnerable human that he can manipulate but I think that she just may end up being strong enough to learn how to fight the compulsion. After all, if Caroline's dad could learn to do it, I think that Cami could. Ooh yeah! I'd forgotten about Caroline's dad being able to not be compelled. I actually love that theory because that would put Klaus and Cami on more equal footing. I was SO surprised about Marcel and Rebekah. I mean, I knew they'd go there eventually, I just thought it would take more time. A slower burn. I'm sure Klaus won't be pleased about this. Oh and Thierry! It was nice seeing him and his pretty eyes

Yes, seeing Thierry was a big surprise! He really is loyal friend to Marcel.
In some ways, I think they did rush things with Rebekah and Marcel, although Rebekah does have the tendency to jump into bed without thinking of the consequences. She wants love but she ends up going about it in the wrong way.

I LOVE this theory of Cami learning to fight the compulsion like Caroline's dad. Father Kieran just has so much personality and presence - I hope he sticks around too. TEAM HUMANS! And Mandy, that awkward shoulder pat was everything! Poor Klaus. I know a lot of fans think it's OOC for Klaus to not kill the humans but I suppose as a main character, they have to set up interactions with everyone involved.
And it looked like Rebekah gave Marcel that apple on purpose but she obviously cares about Hayley so maybe not.

Now you have me second guessing Rebekah's motives too. I wonder if the writers used the apple also because the apple is symbolic of temptation. I agree about Father Kieran. I am happy that there is such a strong human element on TO.
