Initial Impressions
On a whim I pre-ordered the Past Life Oracle some time ago from Amazon and I am so happy that I did. This deck has definitely exceeded my expectations.


Positives
I really like the art style of the cards and the lack of borders. The gilded edges is also a very nice touch.


How I Am Using This Deck
Instead of using it for past life readings, however, I have been using for story telling and general readings. This has proved to be quite an intriguing experiment and I am still trying to sort out how to interpret some of the cards using the deck in this way. 


Example Readings
Here are two readings that I conducted prior to latest episode of The Blacklist (Season 2, episode 3.)


Reading 1: For the first question I asked “What will this episode be about?” and two jumpers (Finances and Health) flew out as I shuffled. These two cards turned out to be spot on as the story line revolved around an expensive, black market organ harvesting and transplant scheme.


Reading 2: For the other reading I asked what I need to know about the character of Elizabeth and drew the Orphan and the Spouse card. I think this combo is very accurate, pointing to Elizabeth’s loneliness as she doesn’t have any family or a husband anymore. Plus, I think it highlights that Tom Keen and Elizabeth’s childhood are important and I suspect we will be revisiting these two things in future episodes. Tom may very well be alive.
