My 2014 AwardsEligibility: Only items that I purchased in 2014 and are listed in this post qualify. Best Deal:The Spirit of Herbs: A Guide to the Herbal Tarot by Michael Tierra (Book) - 50 cents The book is really beat up but it is still readable. I have the Herbal Tarot deck so having its companion book is nice. It also turns out that the book is OOP so that makes it even more of a score. Exceeded-My-Expectations Oracle Deck:Past Life OracleI wasn't really expecting much from this deck. I pre-ordered it early on so I was happy to see it drop to around $10. I really like its gilded edges, lack of borders, and its art style. I remove a few cards and use it as a general oracle rather than use it for past life readings. It reads surprising well. Best Tarot Companion Book:Wizard Tarot by Corrine KennerThe Wizard Tarot deck is a basic RWS clone but its companion book really shines. I am a Harry Potter fan and love spreads so I find myself re-reading this book. Most Dreamy Deck:Tarot of the Hidden RealmI love its soothing color palette and expressive faces. The companion book by Barbara Moore is outstanding as well. There is a Llewellyn article, Elemental Energy in the Hidden Realm, where she talks about the energies of this deck. Most Electric Deck:I Am One TarotI don't use this deck for readings. I just love looking through its images. It invokes a lot of powerful feelings that I can't explain. Most Disappointing Tarot Deck Purchase:Ghost TarotI bought it on a whim because I like Davide Corsi's artwork on the Vampire Tarot of the Eternal Night and the Pictorial Key Tarot but this deck just feels flat to me, especially the court cards. My daughter really likes looking through this deck though so that keeps it in my collection. Biggest Oracle Guidebook Let Down:Halloween Oracle. Not only is it on the skimpy side, but I feel that some of its descriptions are repetitive or off. Love the deck though and the deck's images are very striking. Most Deserving Of In-Depth Study:Chrysalis TarotI was on the fence about this deck but after reading so many positive reviews I decided to check out the app and then bought it. Well worth the hype in my opinion. In/Out Of The Donation Box:The Teachings of Abraham Well-Being Cards and the Ask And It Is Given cards. I purchased both of these decks for $1.99 at the thrift store. They are okay affirmation decks. However, as space is becoming limited I may end up donating them.
